0:01 – program gone crazy? Nope, this is just exactly the correct transcription of the title. I usually remark how transcribing these songs into runes is nothing but a treat, but this time, this not quite right.
Except for the first and last lines, which come from the Rígsþula and Hávamál respectively, the rest of the song comes from two runestones: one is the Karlevi stone (Öland, Sweden) and the other is the first Gørlev runestone (Gørlev, Denmark). For this reason, while I transcribed the rest of the lyrics as I usually do, for the lines taken from these runestones, I simply transcribed the original text. The only differences between the original and my transcription is that I took the freedom of adding the runes which were missing on the stones (a pretty common occurrence in runestones) and I didn’t flip some of the runes (namely part of the ᛋ from the Gørlev stone) for the simple reason that the font I used does not support flipped runes.
