Hey, guys! Bad news for those who hoped to see the continuation of the Baker Street Irregulars’ story, as Netflix cancels the Sherlock Holmes detective drama series after just one season – there’ll be NO Season 2 for The Irregulars. Typically, the streamer takes 3 to 6 months to make decisions on the future of their original shows, but in case with The Irregulars, Netflix nixed the series just 6 weeks after its March premiere. The cancelation news came amid rumors that Season 2 was already in production as was listed in Production Weekly in March, and in April, the Esquire magazine reported that filming was expected to start this summer in Liverpool, England. Netflix cancelled The Irregulars despite the fact that in the first week of streaming, the series topped the Nielsen chart of streaming shows, edging out the Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. However, in the following weeks, the viewership numbers dropped sharply. Plus, The Irregulars got very mixed reviews from viewers, who rate it at a low score of 5.8 out 10 on IMDb. However, if you are a fan of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle works, we have good news: Netflix is developing a new Sherlock Holmes original movie, titled Sherlock Junior, which follows a modern day young John Watson and British expatriate Sherlock Holmes.
