In this video, Curt Hillier and Daniel Scurtu, both engineering directors, showcase an example of how a virtual development environment running in the cloud can be used to fine-tune a complex algorithm that optimizes the torque (read extends range) of a hybrid electric vehicle balancing between the combustion engine and the electrical motor system. During the video, they explain what exactly is a virtual development environment (S32 Cloud Studio), how to accurately use a virtualized NXP chip from our partner Synopsys, and how to develop in the cloud using AWS.
The demo is run using our S32Z/E real-time processor, which is ideal for virtualization and isolation of vehicle functionalities.
