For our latest unboxing review we bring you the 2017 Cadillac CTS-V. First things first: it's powered by the same (although slightly detuned) supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that powers the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. For the CTS-V, total output is 640 hp and 630 lb-ft of torque, with all of that power going to the rear wheels through an 8-speed automatic. Performance? Try 0-60 mph in only 3.7 seconds, 0-100 in 7.5 seconds and a claimed top speed of 200 mph. The BMW M5, just to compare, makes the sprint to 60 in 4.2 seconds. Our CTS-V sampler came very well equipped with thousands of dollars worth of extras. Money well spent. For an extra $1,600, for example, you're treated to a Performance Data & Video Recorder because of course you're going to track this monster.

Our car also has the $6,250 Carbon Fiber Package, the $6,950 Carbon Black Package, and $2,075 Luxury Package. Grand total? $109,610. Oh, and that includes the $1,000 gas guzzler tax. So, had Cadillac built the greatest performance machine in its entire history. Yes. No doubt about it. Is this third-generation CTS-V better than its German rivals? Considering the BMW M5 is no longer new, yes, the Caddie is better. However, future new rivals are on their way, but based on our experience, the Cadillac CTS-V is ready for the challenge and can more than hold its own. Enjoy the review!
