In this video we teach you how to connect an Ecobee Contact Sensor or Ecobee Window and Door Sensor to your Ecobee Thermostat. These instructions will work for both the Ecobee 3 lite and Ecobee Smart Thermostat. The Ecobee Contact Sensor connects directly to the Ecobee Thermostat and is also accessible on the Ecobee App once connected.

The Ecobee Contact Sensor / Window & Door sensor is designed to be placed on a door and will let you know if a door is opened or closed. The contact sensors also have a motion sensor built into the device. Ecobee offers a service that allows you to use the sensors as part of a security system in conjunction with your Ecobee Smart Thermostat.

To Connect Ecobee Contact Sensors:
1. You will need to have your Ecobee Thermostat set up and installed and connected wifi. Your Ecobee Thermostat will also need to be connected to the Ecobee App.
2. Open up the app and press the + symbol in the upper right hand corner of the ecobee app.
3. Scroll down and select the device you are connecting which is a contact sensor.
4. Follow the instructions and scan the QR Code on the Ecobee Door and Window Sensor. If you don't have a QR code you can manually enter the code on the back of the sensor to add it to the Ecobee App.
5. Pull the battery tab out of the Ecobee contact SmartSensor to activate it so it can connect to the Ecobee Thermostat.
6. Follow the in app instructions to connect the Ecobee Door and Window sensor to the Ecobee app.
