An iron pan will last a lifetime if you treat it right. And the longer it is in use, the better it becomes. Just don't get it wet, or it will start to rust. An iron frying pan can withstand higher temperatures and is particularly well suited for frying potatoes or meat.

Stefan Zydek from Lochum in the Westerwald is a blacksmith and shows how to make an iron frying pan. In his rustic workshop, he works the red-hot metal with hammer and anvil. An archaic craft that requires full physical effort.
