After catching 28J, I continued on down to Tuscaloosa to stop by an intersection on the northeast corner of the downtown that I'd visited once all the way back in 2015. At this intersection is a full set of Econolite E-8 pedestrian signals, all of which had the original neon (or fiber-optic) internals replaced years ago with what appears to have been some incandescent ICC hand/man retrofits, which are rather neat to see. Thankfully, rather than replacing these outright with an LED upgrade to the rest of their traffic and pedestrian signals, the city of Tuscaloosa chose to instead leave them incandescent, and, in more recent years, has steadily replaced the old incandescent bulbs with LED ones. I believe these are the last E-8 peds left in the state, so I'm glad the city's held onto these. A few of them also still have incandescent walk indications while one retains an incandescent don't walk indication. Two of the signals here are also still fully incandescent, which is great to see. Hopefully these continue to remain here for many more years to come.
Also at this intersection are a three pairs of 12 inch Alusig signals, two pairs of which I filmed, and a pair of 12 inch Mark IV signals, to control the vehicular traffic here.
