There's a Tesla Model Y dog issue that I wanted to share with fellow dog owners (especially owners of big dogs).

The Tesla Model Y is packed with great features and technology. Unfortunately, there's one aspect that really creates issues, especially on long drives. This issue is the slope of the rear hatch door.

In many other SUVs (such as Stefany's Ford Escape) the rear hatch door is nearly a straight vertical. As a result, a large dog like Uncle John can comfortably sit straight up without hitting their head against the roof or rear hatch door.

In the Tesla Model Y, I noticed that, while there's ample space for a large dog like Uncle John to lay down in the rear, he was hitting his head against the rear door glass pretty regularly. I also saw that when he tries to get up to move around or just look out the rear window, he can't sit straight up comfortably, so has to remain somewhat hunched over.

If you have a large dog, just be mindful that they may also have issues sitting up while back there during a drive. If you're going on a long drive, be sure to make them as comfortable as possible.
