new 2019 Android Auto vs Apple Carplay in a blind test to see which one you pick as the best performer. In this video we will use Siri and Google Assistant to execute functions to see Apple Carplay and Android Auto which is best better. Click show more to continue...
Toyota now has both the new Android Auto and the newest Apple Carplay available on select vehicles- which gives us the opportunity to pit each system against one another in a blind taste test. You get to vote on whether Apple Carplay or Android is the best.
How does Apple Carplay and Android Auto work? Both Apple and Google remove a majority of functions from your phone to only give you the basics. These basics are Phone, Music, Maps and Messages. That's it. Any compatible app will fall under one or more of these categories.
When you connect your Apple and/or Android phone to a vehicle's congruous head unit- you will be prompted to engage the system. While activated your car's main screen will host the watered down functions of your phone. Toyota allows full touch and voice interface while some manufacturers may add a dial or touch pad to control functions. Each system will allow you to exit at any point to give you access to radio and other embedded head unit features.
If you are an Android user- you can get Android Auto for your phone but my personal experience is that your phone works better without it activated.
You can hold that phone using one of these.
