My remix edit of 'Face To Face', I love the original song and had always been fascinated by its production ever since I heard it for the first time. This was the first collaboration between Daft Punk and Todd Edwards and as we all know, they later reunited on 'Fragments Of Time', 'Face To Face' is built upon 70 micro samples edited one after the other, a French word to describe this track is 'bricolage'. Todd Edwards is known as one of the inventors of UK Garage and is also more known for his sampling style where he uses dozens of micro samples he edits together to create a futuristic flow to his music, some have even said it sounds like a glitchy kind of sound too which gives it a certain amount of originality. Todd's vocals sound quite calm in some sense and a little raspy, that's because Thomas Bangalter suggested Todd sing the lyrics to 'Face To Face' a little more raspier like Foreigner and the lyrics from Todd's viewpoint were written after he heard the duo out as for the 'Discovery' album, they were trying to get a film made and the album would have served as a soundtrack, the original plan was to make a live-action film but they ended up producing an anime film and Todd wrote the lyrics as if you could sing them to yourself, to someone in conflict or singing to God.
And I would highly suggest everyone check out some of the remakes of this track you can find on Youtube just to see the way this track was built over dozens and dozens of micro samples because it's fascinating the way it was constructed with all these different hooks and samples from various records. There are samples from Loggins & Messina, the Doobie Brothers, Steppenwolf, The Alan Parsons Project, Electric Light Orchestra and even Boz Scaggs to name some but there are so many more and I'll let you guys and girls do the rest :)

My approach for this remix was relatively interesting, I wanted to try doing a remix that served as a tribute to Daft Punk and Todd Edwards while using Todd's technique, I put a new drumbeat over, a house-oriented drumbeat and I sliced the track in different ways and coming up with new hooks to give it that classic 'Fluence Remix' feel to it and this is my end result and I hope you all appreciate my remix of 'Face To Face'.
