An assistant professor at the Cullen College of Engineering has received a three-year grant from TexDOT to advance research on digitizing bridges using robots and A.I. Also, chemical and biomolecular engineering professor Richard Willson is applying the chemistry inside of glow sticks to develop bright and rapid diagnostic tests that can detect a variety of biothreats including poisons and viruses. Finally, aspiring educators at UH are getting a sneak peek at the future of classroom instruction, thanks to virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technology.
