The new 2023 Porsche 911 Sport Classic is a true embodiment of Porsche's Heritage Design strategy, resurrecting iconic design elements from the 1960s and early 1970s. Crafted as a limited edition by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, this model is a homage to the legendary Porsche 911 models from the past, with only 1,250 units in existence. Drawing inspiration from its predecessor, the 2009 Porsche 911 Sport Classic based on the 977 model, the 2023 Sport Classic pays tribute to the original 911 (1964–1973) and the revered 911 Carrera RS 2.7 from 1972. The exterior of the 2023 Porsche 911 Sport Classic boasts a distinctive and iconic "Sport Grey Metallic" paint job, a modern reinterpretation of the iconic "Fashion Grey" from the early Porsche 356. Accentuating this unique color are twin stripes in light Sports Grey on the bonnet, roof, and rear spoiler, along with racing-inspired number 6 decals on the doors. The wide-body design, reminiscent of the 911 Turbo models, a fixed rear spoiler paying homage to the 1972 Carrera RS 2.7's "ducktail," and a double-bubble roof add to the classic charm of this sports car. Inside, the 911 Sport Classic exudes timeless elegance with the iconic Pepita pattern on door panels and seat centers. The two-tone semi-aniline leather upholstery in black/classic cognac provides a sophisticated contrast to the heritage exterior. Underneath its classic exterior, the 2023 Porsche 911 Sport Classic houses a modern and potent powertrain. The 3.7-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine delivers a robust 550 horsepower to the rear wheels through a 7-speed manual transmission, making it the most powerful manual 911 to date. The gearbox features an auto-blip function for seamless downshifts, while the specially tuned sports exhaust system adds an emotive auditory experience to the driving pleasure. The sports suspension, derived from the 911 Turbo and 911 GTS models, offers a 10mm lower ride height and promptly responds to dynamic changes with the standard Porsche Active Suspension Management.
