Launched in 1996, the Audi A3 has consistently stood out as a leader in the premium compact car market. The newest version further refines its position with a progressive design, improved standard features, and new material selections. This latest A3 model includes applications accessible right from the vehicle’s display, introduces innovative options for daytime running lights, and offers an adaptable method for adding functionalities as needed, making each drive a customized experience.

The exterior of the A3 blends traditional design elements with contemporary updates. The front grille is redesigned into a hexagonal shape, common to the latest Audi models, and is surrounded by larger air intakes, with the Audi logo prominently displayed. The lighting system is upgraded to include LED and matrix LED options, each with four unique daytime running light configurations. At the back, the influence of the RS3 is evident in the new LED tail light setup, which features black and mesh accents.

Internally, the A3 continues to excel with high-tech features that were part of its previous version, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. A novel addition is the subscription-based model for accessing certain fundamental features, such as high-beam assist and smartphone integration.

It remains to be seen whether these subscription features will be available in the U.S. market when the A3 launches there in 2025. The cabin retains its well-known arrangement but updates include slimmer gear shifters, new door fabric patterns, and an adjustable cabin light system offering 30 different colors.

Under the bonnet, the base model in Europe comes with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, integrated with mild-hybrid technology to produce 148 horsepower, and is available in manual or automatic transmissions. There is also a diesel model with similar power outputs and plans for a plug-in hybrid version in the near future.

The A3’s lineup is enhanced with the introduction of the Allstreet variant, designed to emulate a crossover vehicle with a rugged off-road look, featuring a matte black grille and protective trim around the wheel arches. It offers a higher stance for a more comfortable ride and several wheel design options.

Both the Allstreet and the standard Sportback versions provide substantial storage space, which can be expanded by folding down the rear seats. Additionally, an optional electric tailgate is available for added convenience.

While Audi has not yet announced pricing for the American market, the starting price for the Sportback in Europe is around €35,650, with the sedan and Allstreet models being slightly more expensive.
