Getting this Mini to be stupid fast requires many things. Induction is a very important part of it. Since I will not be increasing the displacement of the cylinders, the only way to get more power out of an engine is to shove more air into those cylinders. That way, the engine will be able to spray more fuel into the combustion chamber and give us more power. The more air we can shove into those cylinders, the more power we will be able to extract.

The R56 Cooper S’ and JCW’s come turbocharged from the manufacturer. Most people who have Cooper S’ will want to upgrade to the JCW 37mm turbo for the extra power. Since I’m already at that stage, I want something a bit beefier than that. If I upgraded to d 42mm, I’d be able to push about 260 whp, but I’m would like a bit more than that, hence the 47mm upgrade I bought. There are 100% going to be other mods needed to support the extra turbo, including a new clutch, a LSD, potentially upgraded axles, etc. When you upgrade one thing, you will usually have to upgrade others to keep some reliability.
