Teenager Denji just wanted to live an ordinary life and eat his fill, but the debts left after his father left for another world force the guy to drag out a half-starved existence and live in poverty. To pay off the yakuza, he has already sold some of his organs and even trades in illegal hunting for demons, in which he is helped by an unusual pet Pochita, a demonic creature with a chainsaw. One day, insidious bandits lure Denji into a trap and sacrifice him, but Pochita does not allow the guy to go to another world. He splices his body and becomes the heart of his master - now Denji has increased regeneration, and can also turn limbs into chainsaws. Such a valuable cadre is hired by the Public Security Bureau to hunt demons again. At a new job, the guy meets his colleagues - the melancholic hunter Aki, the hot-tempered half-demoness Power - and falls in love with his mysterious boss Makima.
