Finally catching up on the videos. This one is pretty special, because for the first time we have a sliding roof that is WEATHERPOOF.

This video just does not do the complexity of this roof justice. It has been an absolute beast. It has tight tolerances, has to join two movable structures, has to deal with water, wind and of course move in and out of the trailer.

I have gone back to the drawing board so many times. Even after I ordered flashings and had them on site I have scrapped ideas and started again. The sliding flashings proved a real challenge. I needed to keep tolerances and gaps tight but I had to accommodate a 2.4m roof while making sure it doesn't rub and scratch colorbond.

But the roof is FINALLY done. I can't say how happy that makes me. For months it was just a piece of builders plastic that leaked. And now we have a roof. We've had some crazy weather already and it has stood up so well. Just a couple days ago the wind and rain was so intense that it pushed hail up under the ridge cap of the workshop. But not a drop leaked on the sliding roof. That made me smile.

The next steps is to finish the cladding. It is already well underway and I am starting to work on the tricky bits. I can't wait to do that video.

Until next time, don't hate... educate, and go build cool stuff.
