In this video from our archive, we look back at what life was like for teen boys who were locked up inside one of America's largest juvenile prisons. With a capacity for 400 teens, juvenile prison is the "last stop" in the juvenile justice system before kids commit crimes that would get them sent to adult court and adult jail. In this juvenile prison, teens must complete a 5 level program before gaining their release. As we see in this documentary, completing those levels and getting through the release process is never easy. However, once teens complete the program, they are proud to go through graduation ceremonies where family and friends can witness their transformation.

Update: Several years after his release, Abel was arrested in 2017 for possession and dealing in methamphetamines. He received a 2 years sentence.
