Refinancing SMEs: the role of non-banks in meeting the Covid-19 challenge

Why you should watch: When the Covid-19 crisis struck, small and medium-sized business – many of which had never been borrowers – were suddenly in need of every form of credit they could get. This video brings together leading representatives from the non-bank finance sector and from the SME world, and a seasoned commentator on all forms of SME finance. They discuss:

- whether the best use has been made of non-bank finance
- the crisis as a catalyst for reforming enterprise finance
- how the overhang of company debt can be worked through, allowing the government – and big banks – to back off
- what opportunities have emerged to broaden the choice of finance for SMEs

Moderator: Jane Fuller (Co-director, CSFI)
