People with Amnestic Disorders need to do things in writing, as they have trouble remembering conversations and following directions. It is important that things are written down for them. It is a feature of High Altitude Disease (HAD) which he has from a decade in high altitude professional astronomy. He used to work at 13,800 feet atop Mauna Kea on Hawaii island, where there is 40% less oxygen and a high radiation environment from Space. He was managing the world's two largest telescopes at the W. M. Keck Observatory. He has biological damage from hypoxic exposures and the abnormally high radiation environment there.
