Here are three common styles of strainer basket, from the builder grade to a little more user friendly type. Two of the styles discussed require plumber's putty or silicone to create a water tight seal which more seasoned plumbers may find more reliable, and some may find to be more hassle than it's worth. I'll go over the basic installation process as well.
