š In todays comparison we take a look at two mini off-roaders! The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer Activ and the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport! Both of these are small SUV's that offer some offroad capabilities and are also great daily drivers for a vehicle right around $30K!
The Chevy Trailblazer Activ model is designed for more rugged driving, meaning going off the pavement! Part of this trim level is skid plates, an offroad tuned suspension and the beefier all terrain tires! There is no height added, however, with around 8'' of ground clearance, that's pretty impressive for this smaller size SUV! The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer has a great exterior design and especially finished off in this two tone orange and white, it's a bold vehicle! The black chrome adds a great touch, but there is some plastic on the exterior! The interior is nice with the leather seats and the trim accents on the front door panels! It drove very nice and tracked straight, smooth as well. I don't really have any complaints with driving it, and the gas mileage was impressive for this smaller engine and I averaged around 31mpg over around 400 miles. I have seen some V6 models do that as well, so hard to truly say how impressive it is. But for the smaller engine, it packs a punch and is economical.
The Ford Bronco sport is the mini SUV compared to the Bronco! It's not as hard core and is based off of the Ford Escape! The rear seat passengers have plenty of headroom with the curve of the roof and can place their feet underneath the front seats to make it a comfortable back seat. The exterior styling is a great modern design from the original Bronco sport and I love how they kept it boxy and gave it an aggressive look for a smaller size SUV! If you want to set yourself apart from other vehicles in this class, this is the SUV to do it with! The interior has nice materials and all the information you need, the infotainment system is easy to use along with the rest of the center control stack. There is plenty of storage space and hidden pockets throughout with is a great use of the space! The engine in this model is the smaller one offered and I thought it had an adequate amount of power for the size of the vehicle, but of course you can opt for the larger engine if desired! Overall this is a great SUV to come from Ford and I love how it gives customers the option to get a rugged "off-roader" in this class.
