In this video, we discuss the concept of situational awareness while scuba diving. In some situations, the lack of situational awareness can be caused by tunnel vision. Tunnel vision in turn can be caused by lack of proficiency. By increasing proficiency, divers can improve their situational awareness. The diver needs to both have sufficient knowledge and skills in order to do this. If it is not possible to physically practice, mental rehearsal techniques can be utilized.
