It's round 2 of the 2021 Caterham Academy! This time it's at Mallory Park, near Leicester. Instead of a sprint like last time at Curborough, it's a race! It's not only Paul's first race start, but there are lots of other drivers making their racing debut here too! All driving the 175BHP, road legal Caterham Academy cars!

For qualifying, Paul chose a slightly different Avon tyre, made for drier weather. Could it be a pole position for Lovecars in the first race? There's tenths of seconds in it! With our very own Tiff Needell out there interviewing, we get to speak to some of the other drivers on their qualifying session too.

Then it's race time and we join Paul on board his Caterham as he overtakes and moves up the pack, using the slipstream of other cars to challenge for pole position, followed by overshooting a corner, some unfortunate contact with another car! From there, it was trying to recover as many places as possible, lunging down the insides of his competitors to finish in a respectable position!

A huge congratulations to each and every Caterham Academy competitor. You’re now all officially racing drivers!
