What happens when you cross a xylophone key with a super magnet and an electromagnetic oscillator??? You get and electromagnetic xylophone. Ihave been looking for different ways of producing some high power electro-mechanical oscillators, and a xylophone type resonator seems ideal... This type of mechanical resonator is created by a transverse mechanical standing wave that travels up and down the length of the metal bar... in this case.. aluminum. I am using a super magnet attached to the resonator.. and oscillate it with and electromagnet hooked to a special power supply that I designs... Very cool!!
