By observing how adult zebra finches teach their juvenile birds to sing, #UChicago researchers have demonstrated a link between a key protein complex in the brain and the development of learned behavioral patterns. Listen to the “tutor’s” song—and then notice how too much or too little of this protein complex (toward the end of the video clip) affects the young birds' “parroting” skills.
