Microwave salvage parts was fun and educational. The intention of my video was to learn what’s in a microwave and warn people about crushing the magnetron and transformer holding current and maybe some entertainment . This is the main danger. Never operate a microwave oven with the cover opened, as high voltage and quite high currents are circulating. You can also sell it without taking it apart , eplacing a microwave magnetron costs $100 to $200. This includes a part price of $50 to $100 and $50 to $100 for labor. A magnetron is the primary component that produces heat for the appliance. This part creates microwave energy. Now for the deadly lethal transformer warning the powers the hungry magnetron - There are three windings, the primary one getting 120 or 240V mains voltage applied. The secondary is high in power.
