Retired U.S. Navy Adm. Robert Natter and Medal of Honor recipient retired U.S. Navy Capt. Thomas Kelley are the newest members of the NPS Hall of Fame, honored during an induction ceremony in Herrmann Hall, Dec. 1, 2023.

Kelley, a 1972 NPS graduate, is the first recipient of the Medal of Honor to be inducted into the school's Hall of Fame. He was awarded the Medal of Honor during the Vietnam War for heroic actions in combat, then successfully fought to remain on active duty despite his injuries. After his retirement, Kelley went on to lead the Massachusetts Department of Veterans’ Services.

Natter, who graduated from NPS in 1982, was also honored for combat actions in Vietnam, receiving the Silver Star and Purple Heart. He later embarked on a distinguished Navy career which included command of USS Antietam (CG 54), U.S. Seventh Fleet, U.S. Atlantic Fleet and U.S. Fleet Forces Command.

The NPS Hall of Fame was established in 2001 to honor the school's most distinguished alumni and friends who, through the attainment of positions at the highest levels of public service, have made the greatest contributions to society, to their nations and to the institution.
