Galatians 5:1, Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Our stance in prayer is gifted to us through Jesus. There is no other just place to stand before God than in Christ. The liberty Jesus offers us is both an event and a process. The Holy Spirit generates life within us in a moment of reconciliation, but that source continues to flow to us, grow us, and carry us into eternity. We are not forgiven to be liberated to do what ever we want. We are liberated to become who God intends us to be. Therefore, the liberty we long for, that this world longs for, that we pray for, is not our will to be done but God’s.
