no need to double up on gasket maker as well as a gasket. I was having sealing issues and chose to. It worked for me on this application.

Today I change the transmission filter and fluid on my Scion XB. Many other Toyota vehicles use the same engine and trans including the corolla. My Transmission went into gear fine, the transmission was not slipping, and It was not leaking red ATF fluid. This was a pure maintenance job for the transmission.The transmission ran smooth after with no leaks and no slippage.

Torque specs:
drain plug 36 ft lbs
pan bolts 71 in lbs
filter 49 in lbs
Sub frame 75 ft Ibs

Tools used:
11/16 and 10mm socket
Torque wrench
Flat head screwdriver
Wix transmission filter and gasket
Gasket rtv
Lock tite
4 quarts of transmission fluid (get from Toyota)
Drain pan
