Tonight’s hikmah is on hope.

Ibn Ata Illah has a beautiful statement discussing the power of processing the potential that having hope does for our Iman.

Committing sins is tough on the heart. When we see ourselves stumble, it's demoralizing. Ibn Ata Illah says, however, not to give up on yourself. Why? Because he says think to yourself that this sin I just finished up with, this might be the last time this sin will ever come across my heart.

And in that moment, he teaches us that we aren't defined by our mistakes, but by how we come back from them.
