2 Cups Warm Water
1/4 Cup Sugar
1 Tbs Yeast
6 Cups Flour plus 1/2 cup for kneading
1/2 Tsp Salt
8 Tbs Butter
1/2 Warm Milk

1. Add warm water, sugar and yeast to a bowl, cover and set aside for for around 15-20 minutes until it’s foamy on top
2. In a separate bowl, combine 6 cups of flour, salt and rub in butter
3. Add half of the flour mixture into the bowl with yeast and stir
4. Add the warm milk next
5. Finally add the remaining flour
6. At this stage, turn the dough out on the countertop and add 1/4 flour and start kneading
7. knead for a total of 10 minutes, adding an additional 1/4 flour in the process (I use a total of 1/2 cup flour for the kneading process. It is important to have a soft but workable dough in order to yield a soft bread)
8. Transfer dough to a clean bowl, greased with some oil, cover and set in a warm place to rise for about 1 to 1 1/2 hour or until your dough is doubled in size (I put my dough in the oven, that was turned off to rise)
9. After the dough is doubled in size, divide into two pieces. This recipe makes two (2) bread
10. Working with one (1) piece at a time, divide into 3 equal pieces and form each piece into a log shape
11. Line each log pieces of dough next to each other and press the tops together.
12. Rotate each piece as you would a braid and repeat for the second bread dough
13. Transfer bread to a grease baking sheet, cover and let rise for an additional 20-30 minutes before baking
14. Bake in a 350 degrees pre-heated oven for 30-45 minutes or until brown
15. Remove from oven and brush melted butter over bread. Cover and let cool for an additional 10 minutes before cutting.
