Why do we not just use Phillips head screws for everything? There are now too many screw designs to count, and it can be very inconvenient when we are renovating.

But there are good reasons for the variance in designs. The biggest reason is because although the Phillips head design is common, they do unfortinately strip or break.

Other designs are less likely to break and they all have their unique properties.
