The ʿĀdhir is worse in disbelief than the Jews & Christians by Shaykh ʾAḥmad al-Ḥāzimī. Personal commentary and some additional reflections:

Shaykh al-Ḥāzimī mentioned Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) and his statement regarding the idol-worshipers and the common knowledge that they are not Muwaḥḥidīn/Muslims, so much so that even the Jews and Christians know this, ergo the one who excuses idol-worshipers is more disbelieving than them.

• All of the Messengers have forbade the worship of idols and performed takfīr upon the one who does commit such shirk, by ijmāʿ (consensus), affirming the Millah of Ibrāhīm’s takfīr upon the Mushrikūn (As illustrated in Surat al-Mumtahanah, 60:4).

• There isn’t a specific text needed when it comes to clear-cut Mushrikūn like idol-worshipers, which also includes grave-worshipers. So the one who excuses Mushrikūn and considers them to be upon his religion is a disbeliever, even if he hadn't received a specific text--and especially so if he were to claim Islām.

• The ʿĀdhir is worse than the Jews and Christians. He is a brother of the idol-worshipers and is self-admittedly upon their Millah, whereas even the Jews and Christians takfir idol-worshipers (obviously meaning idols outside of their own).
