Welcome to Season 2 Episode 16 (S02E16)! Thank you for the support during the making of Season 2! This will be the last episode for some time. Often in the comments the question has come up, asking what are differences between the two B58TU engines (the B58B30B aka B58B30O1 and the B58B30C aka B58B30M1). Both of these can be found in the Toyota Supra as well as in practically every BMW series. I used RealOEM to compare the engines and discover exactly where they are the same, and where they are different. The differences include the cylinder head and pistons. I also examine the S33TA package for the M340i (which I found interesting) as it adds an engine air to oil heat exchanger / radiator to the B58.

It seems to make matters more complicated there is yet another way to refer to the engines in the illustrated parts catalogue:
B58B30M0 (technical manual) = B58B30A (engraved on engine) = B58 (RealOEM)
B58B30O1 (technical manual) = B58B30B (engraved on engine) = B58D (RealOEM)
B58B30M1 (technical manual) = B58B30C (engraved on engine) = B58C (RealOEM)
