Disney And Pixar Movie References Hidden In Soul

In “Soul”, there’s an entire scene dedicated to Pixar and Disney references. In the Hall of Everything you can spot the ferris wheel from “Toy Story 4,” the Spirit of Adventure blimp from “Up” and the classic Pixar lamp, Luxo Jr. There’s also a subtle appearance from the Pixar ball, a sneaky reference to Merida in “Brave,” and as always, the Pizza Planet Truck. Even internet-famous Pizza Rat makes an appearance, as well as an Aztec temple from “Coco,” a monorail from “Incredibles 2” and a whale from “Finding Dory.”

Pete Doctor directed both “Soul” and “Inside Out,” so you shouldn’t be too surprised to see a ton of references to his past work. The Memory Dump from “Inside Out” definitely reminds us of the lost souls in “Soul,” and even broccoli pizza and Riley’s dad’s company, Brang, have cameos in the new film. There’s also a reference to the contaminant code in “Monsters Inc.,” a shout-out to the voice of Heimlich in “A Bug’s Life,” and a reference to A113 that’s super hard to spot. Carl Fredricksen from “Up” also makes a quick cameo, and there’s even a tribute to Walt Disney himself. Pete Doctor also revealed a bunch of hidden secrets behind the creation of the film, like the alternate ending and the almost-villain that would’ve been voiced by Daveed Diggs. And of course there’s a reference to the next Pixar film, “Luca.” Here’s every hidden reference we spotted in “Soul.” How many were you able to find?
