Al salam alayakom Folks,

We have a new Ramadan video today.
Today's video is the 10 Don'ts you should avoid during Ramadan:

1. Don’t Miss Suhoor!
a. "Take Sahur, for in Sahur there is blessing." Sunan an-Nasa'i 2149
2. Don’t Waste Time Sleeping!
3. Don’t Miss Fard Salah for Sunnah Salah (compulsory for voluntary).
4. Don’t get into arguments, fights :
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “If any one of you is fasting, let him not utter obscenities or act in an ignorant manner, and if anyone insults him or wants to fight him, let him say, I am fasting.” (Narrated by al-Bukhari, 1894; Muslim 1151)
5. Don’t use foul language
a. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever does not give up false speech and acting upon it, Allah has no need of his giving up his food and drink.” (Narrated by al-Bukhari, 1903, 6075)
6. Don’t Overeat
a. If you are gaining weight instead of losing weight during ramadan you aren’t ramadaning properly!
b. Some folks will only get off the iftar table when its time to pray isha. This is not from the sunnah and will not help you do tahajud/kiyam layl
7. Don’t waste time on Youtube, on Ramadan Shows, on Streaming Shows
a. In Ramadan the tv studios make the best shows (musalsalaat)
b. In Ramadan they also make Fawazeer Ramadan
c. Avoid Youtube and Streaming Shows
8. Don’t Overdo it with the Invitations!
a. If you invite tons of people over during Ramadan because “You want to get the ajr of feeding a fasting person” there are better ways to do it by sponsoring a Masjid or Islamic Centre Iftar
b. Give your wife a break from standing in the kitchen all day… let her perform ibada
c. Spend more time reading quran instead of socializing, you have a limited time in Ramadan so don’t waste it.
9. Stay off Social Media: Social media is not a good idea during Ramadan for several reasons
a. It’s a massive waste of time
b. You might be tempted to show off your Worship (Riyaa’)
c. You might be tempted to talk about someone behind their back
d. You might be provoked into getting into an argument
10. Don’t forge to Pay Zakat Al Fitr:
a. Ibn ’Abbas (RAA) narrated, ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) enjoined Zakat-ul-fitr on the one who fasts (i.e. fasted during the month of Ramadan) to purify him from any indecent act or speech and for the purpose of providing food for the needy. It is accepted as Zakah for the person who pays it before the Eid prayer and it is Sadaqah (i.e. voluntary charity) for the person who pays it after the Eid prayer.’ Related by Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah and Al-Hakim graded it as Sahih.
