Erin Doherty's dry portrayal of Princess Anne in Netflix's The Crown has quickly made her a fan favourite.

But, with a new season on the way, she revealed that there is one fan she couldn't bear to have watching - the Princess herself.

The British royal has already commented on how long it takes Erin to get her hair done for filming - which is hours longer than the minutes the real Princess spends on it.

However, Ms Doherty said that she feared the Princess would "pick holes in it because that's who she is... and I love her for it!"

"I've done a lot of theater, so you kind of have an immediate reaction from an audience, whereas this is completely different because you're on your own doing this character and then months later people react to it when I'm at home in my pajamas. So it's like really weird, but it's great," the actor says.

One thought she certainly can't entertain is that the real Princess Anne might sit down and watch Doherty, being her, in "The Crown."
