It's a bird, it's a plane.... it's a Coast Guard helicopter! Last week, the U.S. Coast Guard landed a Dolphin MH-65 on the baseball field at Truman Middle School. The special visit was organized by students in the Truman Aeronautics Association after they called the Coast Guard and invited them to Truman.

Elementary students from Point Defiance, Downing and JROTC students from TPS high schools join Truman for the visit. The students gathered around the field and waited in anticipation as the helicopter made its way from the Coast Guard Air Station in Port Angeles. Once the helicopter appeared, the students erupted with excitement as they waved to the crew inside.

After meeting the flight crew, the aeronautics club members couldn't stop smiling. They got together earlier this school year to form the club after discovering their shared interest: aviation. They hope that this visit from the Coast Guard inspires more students to join the club.
