Part 10 of the multipart history of video games. In this section, we will be looking at the glut of space shooters that arose after the groundbreaking success of Space Invaders: games such as Moon Cresta, Xevious, Galaxian and Galaga. We will also be looking at the rise of the high score: its origination with the game Sea Wolf, and it's fruition with Star Fire. We will also be looking at Williams Electronics Defender, one of the hardest (and most profitable) shooters ever released.
