Today I wanted to share with you some aspects of the journey that I've been on for the last 10 years. This journey started when Allah guided me and turned my heart towards Him, which was my spiritual migration (hijrah). On this journey, there was always one verse of the Qur'an that really stuck with me and this was a verse from Surah al-Kahf of The Quran where Allah says "Keep yourself patient with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening seeking his countenance..and don't turn your eyes away from these people when you find them, seeking the glamour of this worldly life.and don't ever obey one from whose heart We have removed our remembrance, Allah says, because that person is just following their hawa, their desires, their whims.

So when my spiritual migration to Allah developed into a physical migration and I moved from the UK, I was born and raised in London, Allah brought me to Morocco and to the city of Fez, and here I met those people who were constantly engaged in the remembrance of Allah, the Dhikr of Allah, and I knew that it was with such people that I would be able to really understand what Allah meant in the verse when he said "Keep yourself patient and keep yourself in a state of patience with those who call upon Allah morning and evening".

To keep ourselves in a state of patience is so important because Allah has said in the Quran وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الصَّابِرِينَ "Allah loves those who are patient" and
Innallaha ma'a as-sabireen. Indeed, Allah is with the patient ones.

When we're far from Allah, we're also far from contentment, and often we're not patient. We become restless and our hearts are not at peace.

I learned that patience ultimately means patience with the decree of Allah, with what Allah has decided for you, and to be content and happy with that.

When I met these people that were calling on Allah morning and evening, there was one man in particular who I took as a spiritual guide and for three years I would go and visit him in the desert. Prior to this I had already learned that there are two oceans of knowledge. An ocean of knowledge externally acquired and an ocean of knowledge internally received - it's people of Dhikr who call upon Allah morning and evening who receive this noor, this light, and this ocean of knowledge that Allah puts into their heart.

You can only benefit from these people by actually being in their company. And that's what Allah allowed me to do. Alhamdulillahi rabbil alameen, all praise to Allah.

May Allah keep us in the company of those who call upon him morning and evening. And may Allah make us of those who call upon him morning and evening, and make us people of patience so that we can win Allah's special love and mercy, as he said والله يحب الصابرين "Allah loves the people of patience

Until the next video, in shaa Allah
