The alphaedge 4d is a 3d printed shoe from Adidas that has always caught my eye but never really enough of my interest to justify spending $300 on it. But now that the're a death star version, it's just weird enough for me to try.

As far as the Star Wars detailing, there's a muted restraint to it, giving this shoe a sleeper star wars fan vibe. And I can understand that; it works for me. Although, I think I wouldn't have minded if they went a little more over the top with this shoe, given it's already insane price point.

As far as a running shoe, I'm not sure that alphaedge is quite ready for actual running. It's an intriguing concept, but in practice, it's heavy. And it just felt, well, unimpressive.

Overall, I'm happy with this shoe, but I am certain it will get more casual use from me than it gets mileage.
