Join us as we go to a very special Nissan dealer in Tokyo to collect Japonic"s highly tuned Midori Seibi 600PS R34 Skyline GT-R after sending it for important chassis refresh. Prince Nismo Performance Center Tokyo is one of the oldest and skillful Nissan dealers that specializes in Skyline GT-R and GT-R models. As part of a total restoration program, the dealer offers a full reconditioning of the engine, chassis, and body, making the car mechanically and visually as new as the day it left the factory in performance. Our R34 GT-R was sent there 10 days ago to receive the Chassis Refresh, which is a labor-intensive process of replacing all the suspension and chassis components including all control arms and bushes. The rear subframe and hub bearings were also replaced. Usually, the program also includes replacing the dampers and springs, but since the car was already equipped with a healthy working suspension it was opted out.

We got a chance to talk to the chief mechanic and Nissan veteran, Koyama San who explains in great detail about the work. Reasons why refreshing your car's old bushes is an important consideration in keeping peak cornering performance. There is also advice for R32 GT-R owners regarding the weak points of this model.

Refreshing the rubber bushes is not exclusive to the Skyline GT-R but essential for any sports car that has seen more than 10 years and 100,000km of use.
