COVID-19 appears to have longer-lasting impacts on our immune system than previously thought. Long COVID is the name given to the syndrome where individuals experience symptoms that last or appear beyond three months after getting COVID-19, even after testing negative for the virus. Recent research has uncovered that COVID-19 may trigger persistent inflammation in the brain, which may be responsible for long COVID symptoms. In this video, we will introduce long COVID and its symptoms and explore the research that links inflammation to these symptoms. We will also discuss treatment options available for individuals suffering from long COVID.
