The Biden administration is expanding Title IX protections, prohibiting discrimination for gender and LGBTQ students. Schools are required to protect students from sex discrimination, including childbirth and terminating or recovering from a pregnancy. It also prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity and sex characteristics.
