The new electric Dodge Charger Daytona is here: 680 HP and 510 km range
The Americans at Dodge have just published the first images and information about the new Charger. For the first time, it also received a purely electric version, called the Charger Daytona, currently available in 2 versions.

The Dodge Charger is an iconic model for the American car industry, a true muscle car. But, as we are already used to, even a model with such a reputation does not escape the effects of electrification.

The American automaker, under the Stellantis umbrella, has just unveiled the new generation Charger. We are talking about a model built on a new platform, the STLA Large, and which, for the first time in its six-decade history, will be available in a purely electric version.
If that doesn't upset fans of this model, then the following lines certainly will. The range of engines no longer includes any V8 version. Furthermore, all-wheel drive is standard for the electric version, and the model will initially be available with a two-door body.

Next year, the Dodge Charger will also be available in a four-door version. Because, in fact, the new Charger replaces both the old model and the Challenger model.

From an aesthetic point of view we have some novelties, such as the LED strip that crosses the entire front and the "hollow" hood of the electric version . And the back part received an LED strip .

The exterior color palette includes 8 shades: After Dark, Bludicrous, Destroyer Grey, Diamond Black, Peel Out, Redeye, Triple Nickel and Knuckle White.

Now that we've covered those details, let's talk a little about dimensions. Both variants have the same wheelbase of 3,074 millimeters, and the length measures 5,248 millimeters.

The width has increased by 127 millimeters. The zero-emissions version has a curb weight of 2,648 kilograms.
TWO ELECTRIC VERSIONS

It will be known as the Charger Daytona. To begin with, customers will have two versions available, R/T and Scat Pack, both with a 400V architecture and a battery of 93.9 kWh, useful capacity. A version with an 800V architecture will also debut later.

The new Dodge Charger Daytona R/T offers 503 HP and 548 Nm, enough to reach 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. On the other hand, the Charger Daytona Scat Pack has 680 HP and 850 Nm. In its case, the 0-100 km/h run takes 3.4 seconds.

All these values are only valid when the driver presses the Power Shot button, which unlocks a surplus of 40 HP for 15 seconds.

If the first version has a maximum speed of 216 km/h, the second can reach 221 km/h. And the range is different: 510 kilometers for the R/T and 418 kilometers for the Scat Pack.

With a fast 350 kW plug, the 5-80% run takes 32.5 minutes.

ARTIFICIAL V8 ENGINE SOUND

Both versions will benefit from Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust technology, an artificial sound generator that imitates the sound of a V8 engine. The Charger Daytona R/T is equipped with 18-inch wheels, and the Charger Daytona Scat Pack with 20-inch wheels.

For the interior, Dodge has prepared a 12.3-inch central display, on which the Uconnect 5 multimedia system runs. In the case of the R/T version, it comes in the company of a 10.25-inch screen for the digital instrument panel, or 16 inches if you opt for Scat Pack version.

There is no shortage of induction charging area for mobile phones.

Textile and eco-leather upholstery is standard, but Nappa leather upholstery is available as an option. The trunk has a loading volume of up to 1,090 liters. A 42.5 liter trunk (frunk) is also available at the front.
As I said, from 2025, the new Dodge Charger will be able to be ordered with thermal engines, but without the V8. These are 3.0-liter, turbo , in-line six-cylinder units that will develop 426 HP and 558 HP .

Dodge did not provide more details about the two conventional versions of the new Charger.

Back to the Charger Daytona, the R/T version will offer five driving modes: Auto, Eco, Sport, Wet/Snow and Track. Charger Daytona Scat Pack adds Donut Mode and Drift Mode.

Also for the Scat Pack version, Dodge prepared a Track package. It includes 16-inch Brembo brake discs, adaptive dampers, wider wheels on the rear axle and a video camera telemetry system for track exits.

The new Dodge Charger Daytona, therefore purely electric, will debut on the market this fall.
