The 2024 Dodge Charger has finally been unveiled after more than a year of anticipation, and it closely resembles the concept version. Notable changes include larger door mirrors and handles, as well as refined lighting elements. However, the overall design remains faithful to the original concept, maintaining the aerodynamic elements reminiscent of classic '60s Chargers, including the distinctive nose and rear liftback. Inside, the dual-screen array, pistol-grip shifter, and ambient lighting create a futuristic ambiance, now enhanced by molded panels replacing the previous plastic strands.

Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis explained that the early reveal of both the production car and EV plans was intentional, allowing fans time to familiarize themselves with the concept. The first year will see only EV variants, dubbed Charger Daytona, hitting the market. The R/T and Scat Pack trims will share similar electric motors, boasting impressive performance figures. The R/T delivers 456 horsepower and 404 pound-feet of torque, while the Scat Pack ups the ante with 590 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque, both aided by a 15-second Power Shot feature.

Direct Connection Stage Kit upgrades will be included for the first year, pushing the R/T to 496 horsepower and the Scat Pack to 670 horsepower. Acceleration times are equally impressive, with the R/T clocking 0-60 in 4.7 seconds and the Scat Pack achieving it in just 3.3 seconds.

Under the hood, a 100.5-kWh gross battery pack powers the Chargers, offering a range of 317 miles for the R/T and 260 miles for the Scat Pack. Charging times are reasonable, with an estimated 80% charge achievable in 30 minutes via a DC fast charger.

The Charger Sixpack, set for release next year, will feature a twin-turbo 3.0-liter "Hurricane" straight-six engine with two states of tune, producing 420 horsepower and 550 horsepower respectively. Both variants will come with standard all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Chassis details for the Sixpack are yet to be revealed, but the R/T and Scat Pack Daytonas boast impressive specs, including wide tires and upgraded brakes. The Scat Pack Track Pack even features the largest brakes ever offered on a Charger.

Special features for the Charger Daytona include various "Race Options" for performance enhancements and a "Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust" that alters exterior sounds. Production for the R/T and Scat Pack Daytonas is set to begin in the middle of this year, with the four-door and Sixpack variants following in the first quarter of next year.

While pricing remains undisclosed, expectations lean towards the Sixpack models having the lowest base prices upon launch.
