Ford introduces the new 2022 Expedition, its flagship SUV, for families looking for epic adventure and unforgettable road trips. With an expanded model range, new driver assistance and networked technologies as well as a new Timberline series, the most off-road in its class2.

With millennials now representing the fastest growing population group in the full-size SUV segment, the expanded product range of the new 2022 Expedition will meet modern family needs and enable unique outdoor and road trip adventures.

Since launching the flagship of this generation in 2017, Expedition has nearly tripled its market share among full-size SUVs, despite the fact that competitors have completely redesigned their vehicles and new entrants are trying to gain a foothold.

The first Timberline series lifts the Expedition above the Jeep® Wagoneer with the best available ground clearance in its class of 10.6 inches6 (compared to a maximum of 10 inches for the Jeep Wagoneer), F-150 Raptor underbody protection and the best available performance in its class1
The Expedition Timberline SUV model weighs 4% less than the Jeep Wagoneer SUV and offers a better power-to-weight ratio, as the powerful 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine from Ford includes the 5.7-liter V8 engine of the Jeep Wagoneer SUV 48 additional horsepower and 106 more exceeds lb.-ft. of torque5
The Stealth Edition Performance Package delivers 85 more horsepower and 127 lb.-ft. more torque5 than a Chevrolet Tahoe® RST SUV with a 5.3 liter V8 engine

Expedition SUV, outfitted with a 3.5-liter GTDI 4x2, has a maximum towing capacity of 9,300 pounds, 900 pounds more than the two-wheel drive, 5.3-liter V8 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, at 8,400 pounds

With these expanded offerings, the new Ford Expedition SUV is poised to attract new customers who are more culturally diverse than the full-size SUV category has seen in recent years, including more women looking for family adventures to break the hassle to balance their over-programmed life.

This expanded product range brings more personality and design to each series - from the Expedition XL to the Premium Expedition Platinum, as well as the new Stealth Edition Performance Package and the Timberline model - including a more eye-catching design with standard LED headlights, updated taillights and new wheel options. In addition, a new double-spar grille and fog lights with chrome accents have been added to the Platinum.
