Part of early testing performed by NHTSA to gather information to see if vehicles can pass FMVSS 212/219/301 and NCAP standards at a higher speed. This test performed at 40 Mph (64 Km/h) is only slightly higher, but resulted in 20-50 percent higher injury readings compared to the NCAP 35 Mph (56 Km/h) crash test.
