I had the opportunity to fish a reclaimed gravel pit with a few of my buddies from the Strictly Sail & Kayak Fishing Team, and it was a really fun day with some nice hybrids and largemouth bass caught! What was so cool is that watching these guys fish this one day taught me so much! I have historically fished alone, at first because I didn't know anyone else in Ohio who fished, and then I suppose it was just habit and I enjoyed the peace of quiet on the water. But on this day I had the opportunity to watch three former/current Angler of the Year buddies fish, and I can't even believe how eye-opening it was. In this one day I learned more about fishing than I had in 3 years of competing on the kayak bass tournament trails.

Thanks so much to Chris Anderson, Michael Grimsley, and Shawn Skidmore for being inspiring anglers and great humans! Our kayak fishing community is full of amazingly nice, helpful people and these guys are perfect examples of that.
