Leg spasms due to a spinal cord injury and getting botox leg injections to reduce or stop the spasms, how it works, how to get insurance to approve and how the injections are done.

I have a T7 and a minor C5 incomplete spinal cord injury and have significant spasms and after trying a few different medicines and physical therapy, and evaluating a baclofen pump, I decided to have botox leg injections to help reduce my leg spasms. It has reduced the leg spasms by about 90%. I get the injections every 3-months from my doctor who specializes in spinal cord injuries and rehabilitation at Houston Methodist Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation which is part of Houston Methodist Hospital at the Texas Medical Center.

Our goal is NOT to learn how to get by with being paralyzed, our goal is to improve as much as possible to have the best quality of life that I can have. I am reaching my goals by staying active, staying positive, helping others, and continuing physical fitness and physical therapy regimens, using the Eksoskeleton Suit in therapy, and taking advantage of any and all modalities that can help me.
